Jeon Bae-soo, The Abeoji

Jeon Bae-soo is the KDrama dad who always catches his KDrama daughter in a compromising position. In Queen of Tears, he catches daughter-in-law Hae-in in Hyun-woo’s room. In Extraordinary Attorney Woo, he catches Young-woo kissing Jun-ho outside their house. In Fight For My Way, he catches Ae-ra with Dong-man. In Mr. Queen, he catches So-yongContinue reading “Jeon Bae-soo, The Abeoji”

Jeon Bae-soo, Father of Two Brilliant Lawyers

Actor Jeon Bae-soo is our favorite dad of lawyers in KDrama. He is the dad of Young-woo (Park Eun-bin) in Extraordinary Attorney Woo. He is also the dad of Hyun-woo (Kim Soo-hyun) in Queen of Tears.  But wait, there’s more! He’s also the dad of Kim Ji-won, a lowly department store employee in Fight ForContinue reading “Jeon Bae-soo, Father of Two Brilliant Lawyers”

Castaway Diva

This series started out strong and ended on a high note, literally. Seo Mok-ha (Park Eun-bin) was a teenager who dreamt of becoming a singer like her idol Yoon Ran-joo (Kim Hyo-jin). She asks her classmate Ki-ho (Moon Woo-jin) to shoot and edit her music video. They become good friends and realize that they areContinue reading “Castaway Diva”

Rewatching Hot Stove League

I’m rewatching the baseball drama series Hot Stove League because of Park Eun-bin and Chae Jong-hyeop. This award-winning series is still good on second watch. There’s Park Eun-bin before she was Extraordinary Attorney Woo and she nails her character as a frustrated and hard-working team manager. There’s Namkoong Min who has a similar acting styleContinue reading “Rewatching Hot Stove League”

Park Eun-bin and Chae Jong-hyeop

Did you know that before Castaway Diva, Park Eun-bin and Chae Jong-hyeop worked together in the award-winning sports drama Hot Stove League? Eun-bin’s character was a team manager while Jong-hyeop’s character was a rising baseball athlete. Hot Stove League is a slow-burn, will make you think, satisfying drama. Might be time for a rewatch.

Road to Boston

Ha Jung-woo stars in another sports-themed, heartwarming journey (he was in the 2009 ski jump movie Take Off). Im Si-wan runs again as an athlete (he was in the 2021 drama Run On). This movie is based on actual events in 1947, when the newly independent Korea fielded their own athletes in the Boston Marathon,Continue reading “Road to Boston”

First Look at Castaway Diva

Everyone is eagerly anticipating Park Eun-bin’s next project after her highly successful Extraordinary Attorney Woo. Castaway Diva does not disappoint. The first episode is all about the young characters and their backstory. The actors who played the young versions of the main cast are spot-on. Lee Re who plays the young Mok-ha looks and actsContinue reading “First Look at Castaway Diva”

EAW Now With English Audio

If you are one of the international viewers who love KDrama but find it hard to keep up with subtitles, you’ll be pleased to know that Extraordinary Attorney Woo is now available on Netflix with English audio. Park Eun-bin recently won the Baeksang Grand Prize for her role as autistic savant Attorney Woo Young-woo.

59th Baeksang Arts Awards (2023)

What a big win for Attorney Woo Young-woo! Park Eun-bin won the Grand Prize for her role in Extraordinary Attorney Woo. Song Hye-kyo won Best Actress for The Glory, which also won Best Drama. Lim Ji-yeon won Best Supporting Actress for The Glory. Best Screenplay went to another one of my favorite dramas last year,Continue reading “59th Baeksang Arts Awards (2023)”
