Jang Dong-yoon in Like Flowers in Sand

Jang Dong-yoon’s acting in Like Flowers in Sand reminds me of actors Kim Min-jae and Yeo Jin-goo. They’re all starting to look alike.  Dong-yoon’s character Kim Baek-du and his young version both wore an Ohio State University t-shirt. I wonder if this is a deliberate wardrobe choice? I’m only on episode 3, we’ll find out.

Like Flowers in Sand is a sports-themed coming-of-age romcom drama about a ssireum (wrestling) team. Jang Dong-yoon is a ssireum athlete. His childhood friend Lee Joo-myung comes back to manage the team. This new series is available on Netflix every Wednesdays and Thursdays.
