Kim Soo-hyun and Na Young-hee have played son-in-law and mother-in-law in at least three popular dramas. They were in The Producers with IU. They were in My Love From the Star with Jun Ji-hyun. They were in Queen of Tears with Kim Ji-won. These two actors are the most comical and heartwarming son and mother-in-lawContinue reading “Kim Soo-hyun and Na Young-hee”

D-Day (Medical KDrama)
This 2015 medical drama is like a boring version of Dr. Romantic. The 2-episode building collapse storyline in Dr. Romantic season 3 is more exciting and more captivating than the entire 20 episodes of D-Day. Or maybe I’m just finding this pre-pandemic disaster drama a little outdated. This series did not age well.
Wonderful Nightmare
While waiting for the next episode of Doctor Cha, I found this 2015 movie starring Uhm Jung-hwa. Her friend Ra Mi-ran (The Good Bad Mother) has a minor role in it. They previously worked together in the 2012 comedy Dancing Queen. They’re both excellent dancers. Actor Kim Byung-chul also has a minor role in thisContinue reading “Wonderful Nightmare”
She Was Pretty
Did you know that the 2015 romcom series She Was Pretty starring Park Seo-jun and Hwang Jung-eum has had at least 6 remakes in various countries? I didn’t know this until I started following Japanese actor Eiji Akaso. I was looking at his filmography and noticed that he was in Kanojo wa Kirei datta (SheContinue reading “She Was Pretty”
JCW and PMY in Healer
I recently finished watching Park Min-young in Love in Contract (nice) and Ji Chang-wook in If You Wish Upon Me (meh). I love these two actors in almost anything they do, but my favorite will always be Chae Young-shin and Park Bong-soo in Healer.

This is the whimsical premise of the movie The Beauty Inside. One day, an ordinary man wakes up with aContinue reading “The Beauty Inside (Movie)”

Ji Chang Wook
Exactly two years ago I didn’t even know who Ji Chang Wook was. And now I’m deeply concerned because he was exposed to Covid. Get well soon, Oppa. (Originally published on August 10, 2019) I know I’m very late to the KDrama craze so this review is for people like me who are only recentlyContinue reading “Ji Chang Wook”
Oh My Venus
Oh My Venus (Originally published on November 15, 2019) You know that feeling when you have a lot of stuff that you can’t throw away because in your mind they still spark some joy? Like that unworn dress that’s a size too small but you’re still hoping that it will fit one day? And youContinue reading “Oh My Venus”
